Boudoir survival tips! 05/26/2010
Ladies look no further for tips on how to best enjoy your Boudic'a Ladies Who Dare experience! Read on... Ok, so you've taken the plunge and booked a boudoir session with me! Firstly, don't be too nervous - I don't bite, I'm a girl too and know how to make you look fantastic, you'll have a lot of giggles and you'll look back at your photos in 30 years time at those photos of you looking like a movie star and wish you'd done it again! I usually set up my portable studio in my ladies' home. This way you're much more relaxed and can easily change into any outfit that you suddenly remember! But...it doesn't HAVE to be your home - why not ask your favourite local hotel if you can book one of their best rooms for a couple of hours? If you're not confident about doing this just ask me and I'll gladly sort it out :O) If you'd like the full pampering experience I can call on a trusted local make-up and hair expert who can help with your transformation! During the shoot I'll be using a portable backdrop and two lights so it really helps if there's a bit of room for these to stand! They really don't take up much room and it usually doesn't mean moving the furniture around :O) Once the camera's started clicking you might just end up in a fit of giggles as you watch me get into all sors of positions that a contortionist would be proud of just to get the perfect shot - don't worry I'll end up with the sore muscles the following day, not you! After the shoot it usually takes 1 - 2 weeks to retouch and edit your shots - I don't just click away and then you have the finished article, oh no! My ladies book me not because I make them feel relaxed or make them feel and look gorgeous, no it's because Boudica Photography has a signature fine art style and it's a labour of love. Each and every one of your photos will be retouched - that means it will undergo basic colour correction, airbrushing etc etc but it will also experience all sorts of magic that many other boudoir photographers don't offer. And I'm not above a spot of digital nipping and tucking if that's what my ladies want! Once I think you're photos are perfected, I'll upload them to the client area of my website and give you a password so that you can browse low-res versions of your photos knowing that no one else can see them! From there you can choose your free prints and decide if you'd like to order extra prints, canvases or even a hard backed coffee table book of your stunning images :O) Finally, I never use any boudoir photos for promotion unless permission has been given for me to do so. It's always fantastic when my ladies are so overwhelmed by their photos that they tell me that I can display one or two of them on my website. I could always hire models I suppose, but that really defeats the object of what I'm trying to achieve. No woman is ordinary - I just like enhancing that inner beauty and letting her see that she's really a goddess :O) Here are a few do's and don'ts- Drink plenty of water before the shoot. (Some say eating lots of watermelon and strawberries for a couple of days beforehand is good) Don't wear tight clothing before the shoot - you don't want sock lines on your photos do you? Cut/file/paint finger and toenails and shave/wax. Bring your make-up bag and hair products. High heels look sexy, accenuate your calves, and make your legs look longer. They also make you look leaner and taller. Bring something of your partner’s with you like a shirt, uniform, tie or hat. For bridal boudoir bring your wedding shoes, veil, tiara and accessories. Bring lots of various accessories, you will get into the swing of it and want to try some different looks! CommentsLeave a Reply |
