I'm very please to say that I'll be exhibiting at the Wedding Fair (organised by Crystal Wedding Fayres) at Woodland Waters in Ancaster on 7th February 2010. The venue is roughly half way between Lincoln and Grantham (or Sleaford and Grantham), just off Ermine Street.

If you've still to book your photographer come along for a chat at my stand, and you can always browse the other suppliers' stalls too. For more details visit http://www.lincolnshire-wedding-fayres.co.uk/woodlands.html

Happy New Year! 01/06/2010

Happy New Year everyone! I'm really excited about whatever 2010 is going to bring. The last year has flown by and I feel that I accomplished all I could with my photography in 2009, along with finishing my degree and graduating in Lincoln Cathedral. I'm planning on changing gear this month and getting Boudica Photography known by a wider audience, and look forward to pushing my own photographic and creative boundaries along the way.

Did you all have a good Christmas? At the Boudica household we had a fantastic time, which was helped along by numerous visits to Belton for the sledging! I had a few photoshoots over the festive period in Ruskington, Skegness and Cranwell and am now enjoying the editing process. Talking of which, my family bought me a new graphics tablet for Christmas, so now I'm a happy Wacom user and am really seeing my workflow becoming more streamlined, and it's great to be getting back to (well, almost) using a pencil. I still draw and paint when I get the time, but the opportunities a few and far between. I took A level Art way back when, and one of the most exciting and valuable classes were the life classes where a model poses and the students draw or paint in various media. With this new graphics tablet I feel like I'm almost reliving those classes, especially when retouching portraits and boudoir photos. Every stroke of the stylus brings the image closer to perfection.

I'm hoping to collaborate with some fashion designers and make-up artists this year for location shoots so watch this space!

Once again Happy New Year, hope it's the best yet!

Sleaford Christmas Market 11/30/2009

Yesterday I had a wonderful day chatting to potential clients who visited my stand at Sleaford Christmas Market. I met some really lovely people and was delighted that my competition-wining photo 'Sleeping Beauty' attracted so many favourable comments. It's always nerve wracking hearing people talk about your work  as it's almost like you're baring your soul for all to see, but I really enjoyed all of the amazingly positive feedback about my work!

My stand was in the Market Square opposite St Denys Church and thankfully next to the Venison Farm stand which tempted me all day with the smell of their delicious venson burgers. So that was lunch taken care of! In front of my stand was the event area along with Sleaford Rotary Club's 'Gluwein and mince pie' stall...of course I had to sample that too! Most surreal moment of the day?? That would have to be talking to Dumbledore and Harry Potter about the pictographic imp that lives inside my camera (one for the Terry Pratchett fans out there lol!)

Thank you so much to all the lovely people who spoke to me about wedding, portrait and boudoir photography - remember if you book before 1st January 2010 you will get 10% off your 2010 booking!!

Here's to a very merry Christmas and a fantastic 2010!

This morning Sophie (a beautiful boudoir client of mine) and I were interviewed by David Jerman of BBC Radio Lincolnshire. The interview was mainly about boudoir photography, the hows, the whys, the wheres etc but we also chatted about the Knights Templar and Geocaching to name a couple of subjects...slightly surreal but a very enjoyable experience!! Tune in to the breakfast show tomorrow, or you can listen again here  http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_lincolnshire/

Yes, it's that time of year again when we start hearing the likes of  Mariah, Wizzard  and Slade blaring out from every shop doorway. It's been such a tough year for many of you out there so I thought I'd give you a little early Christmas gift. If you book before the 1st December 2009, you will get 10% off the price of your wedding photography, boudoir photo shoot or portrait sitting in Dec 09  and all of 2010 (not including extras, add-ons or prints)!!

Also, as a female photographer I sometimes feel like I'm in the minority! So I'd really love to know what YOU look for in a photographer...Gender? Price? Portfolio? Experience? Awards? Creativity? Location? It would be great to know, so please email me, leave a blog comment here or leave a message on my Facebook page or Twitter feed (@Boudicaphoto).

I'm constantly striving to push my own boundaries and seek out challenges and look forward to providing you with some unforgettable images soon!!! So, if you were thinking about booking me, or even if you weren't, take advantage of my short term special offer!

Sleaford Girls High School Smash Guinness World Record 10/24/2009

Yesterday I was very privileged to be photographer at an Arm Wrestling world record attempt by students at Kesteven and Sleaford Girls High School.  I have to say that the school should be extremely proud of the organisers Aileen and Alicia who are 15. What an undertaking at such a young age! Well done to them both. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was interested to see how the Look North reporter/cameraman works..he must have such a stressful job!

If any of the students want to see themselves they just have to visit the 'client area' on this website.

Before you say it...I know, it's been far too long AGAIN. I do have a good excuse though - I've been mega-busy! I've undertaken a number of boudoir, portrait and wedding  shoots with some wonderful clients, entered competitions and set up my portable studio. I'm really looking forward to my next wedding on October 9th at Tattershall castle for Leanne and Lee's big

Sorry... 08/22/2009

...for it being so long since my last update! I seem to have been super-busy recently, along with a wonderful camping trip to Northumberland with our good friends the Edwards clan.

So...after uploading around 300 RAW files of our holiday I quickly realised that my workflow processes have got to change. All of my external drives were full to bursting and things were getting beyond a joke. So today I sat for a couple of hours filtering through all of the RAW files on just one of my hard drives and guess what...I managed to delete 234 whopping GIGABYTES of images! Lawks a lordy and all that...and they were all set-up, metering or pratice shots that should never see the light of day. Next week it looks like i'm going to be sifting through another 4 hard drives to do the same. It's a bit like spring cleaning a few months too late lol.

Whilst hitting the delete button I was also mentally planning a fashion shoot with a model and long flowing dresses etc. I'm becoming increasingly inspired by the work of Tim Walker and have so many ideas floating around my head that I may set something up sometime soon.  Watch this space...

Why doesn't my postman arrive early?? I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of a fantastic new lens - a Canon 50mm f/1.8

This will be extremely useful in low-light conditions such as churches, and the lens helps you to create lovely soft portraits that are perfect for wedding photography. Hurry up Mr Postman!
